Based on the results for January–September, the market maintained positive dynamics: 950,300 new passenger cars were sold over nine months, which is 7.7% more than in the same period last year. The share of domestic brands since the beginning of the year amounted to 42%.
The growth in sales is primarily driven by Russian brands. In September, their sales increased by 50.7%, reaching 55,600 vehicles, and over the first nine months, they grew by 37%, reaching 297,900 cars.
LADA remains the market leader, with 228,300 cars sold. HAVAL takes second place with 128,100 vehicles, and TENET takes third place with 101,900 cars.
The electric vehicle segment stands out separately. Over nine months, sales of new electric vehicles (BEV) increased by 47.6%, reaching 11,800 units. The domestic brand EVOLUTE holds the leading position among brands, having sold 3,050 vehicles — 2.8 times more than in the same period last year.
In the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, negative dynamics persist. In September, sales decreased by 11.8%, to 6,500 units, and over the first nine months, the decline amounted to 20.4%, to 46,600 vehicles. Sales of Russian brands decreased by 22%, to 41,400 units, while sales of foreign brands fell by 3.8%, to 5,200 units. GAZ remains the leader in the segment, with a result of 23,000 vehicles. It is followed by LADA (6,600) and UAZ (6,200).
The pickup truck market showed noticeable growth in September: sales increased by 30%, reaching 2,200 vehicles. Over the first nine months, the market also showed a slight increase — 1.9%, reaching 15,500 units. Imported pickup trucks accounted for 75% of sales, or 11,700 vehicles, while sales of domestic models increased by 6.7%, reaching 3,800. Among the leaders are JAC (2,600 units), SOLLERS (2,400), and GREAT WALL (2,200).
Based on the results of nine months, the Russian automotive market continues to grow, primarily due to domestic brands, while sales of foreign cars are declining. An additional factor that could influence market dynamics in 2027 will be the planned increase in the recycling fee.
